Davar Katan presents the opinions, conduct, and worldview of nine Amora’im — Rabi Yochanan, Reish Lakish, R’ Yehoshua ben Levi, R’ Elazar, R’ Yitzchak, R’ Zeira, Abaye, Rava, and Rav Chisda — drawn from material scattered throughout Shas Bavli and Yerushalmi.

Written by a venerated talmid chacham, the Mashgiach Ruchani of Beis Midrash Heichal Dovid (Yeshiva Darchei Torah), this sefer is neither a history book nor a likut. Rather, it is a refined synthesis of the two, revealing the messages between the lines of the Gemara, which allows bnei Torah to feel a real connection to the great Amora’im whose words they learn, together with the mussar, hashkafah, and life lessons that emerge.
