The Life and Times of Harav Menachem Ziemba

There is no scholar or talmid chacham in Klal Yisrael who has not heard of the Gaon HaKadosh, Harav Menachem Ziemba zt”l, who wore the crown of Chassidic lamdanus in the generation preceding the Holocaust. A leader in Klal Yisrael, he was revered by all.

This work is a comprehensive effort to illuminate the wondrous and captivating character of Rav Ziemba, whose entire life was a seamless unity of Torah, chassidus, and avodas Hashem, until he was murdered together with his entire family in the Warsaw Ghetto. Dozens of his manuscripts, the fruit of a lifetime of toil across all areas of Torah, were burned and destroyed together with him.

The book describes Rav Ziemba’s childhood in Warsaw, his growth, development and unusual diligence in learning, along with his tireless activities on behalf of both the community as a whole and countless individuals. This eventually led to his acceptance of a rabbinical seat in the city of his birth. Every stage of the Rav’s life is chronicled, up until his tragic murder al kiddush Hashem, and concluding with an account of the reinterment of his aron in Yerushalayim.
